Upson targets clean sheets

West Ham defender Matt Upson believes a shored-up backline will unequivocally boost their chances of Barclays Premier League survival. The Hammers have enjoyed a recent resurgence and have won three games on the trot, scoring 11 goals in the process. Saturday's 3-0 defeat of Stoke was Avram Grant's latest triumph and helped propel the Londoners out of the drop zone. The result also gave West Ham their first league clean sheet since New Year's Day - something England international Upson wants more of in the run-in. "It is great to get the clean sheet," he said. "The win is the most important but clean sheets are vital. "From now until the end of the season, the more of them we have, the better chance we give ourselves."
