1) PAOLO DI CANIO VS Wimbledon (West Ham United 2-1 Wimbledon, March 26th 2000)
At top spot is this effort from the enigmatic Paolo Di Canio and arguably the greatest premier league ever scored? Di Canio is a hammers legend and it is plain to see why. His ability to turn any game on its head and produce something out of absolutely nothing was never more evident than in this magnificent volleyed opener against Wimbledon back in 2000.
A switched ball out wide by the late Marc Vivien Foe found Trevor Sinclair with space on the right hand side. Sinclair floated the ball into the back post and Di Canio ran on to the ball and unleashed an outrageous scissor kick, which flew into the bottom corner of the Wimbledon goal.
A truly (as both Martin Tyler would go on to say just a couple of times!) sensational goal, from a wonderful player that we will be watching for years to come.
