West Ham defender James Tomkins is hoping to earn a recall to the first team before long as Avram Grant looks to shake things up.[LNB] Tomkins was a regular under Gianfranco Zola last season but he has made just one appearance in the Premier League, against Aston Villa, under Grant.[LNB]However the 21-year-old featured in the second string's 1-0 victory at Everton on Tuesday and now hopes to take on Stoke this weekend.[LNB]The England Under-21 international told the club's official website: "I really want to play. I will keep working hard and trying to impress in training, as that's all I can do.[LNB]"If I do play well for the reserves, hopefully the feedback will get back to the manager and, you never, know, I might get to play. That's all that I want to do - to play."
