Stoke 0 West Ham 1: In-form Green is catching on for the Hammers

If Fabio Capello picked England goalkeepers on the basis of how they coped with an aerial bombardment at Stoke, West Ham's Robert Green would have nothing to fear from Manuel Almunia getting his hands on a British passport. Not many international opponents are going to rain a succession of 30-yard throw-ins on your head but Green handled the pressure a whole lot better than when the Spaniard and Arsenal were bludgeoned into submission back in November. Having been restricted to two caps in the last four years as he fights for the England No 1 spot with David James, Paul Robinson, Scott Carson and Ben Foster, just about the last thing Green needs with the 2010 World Cup around the corner is yet more competition.
