Robbie Keane believes he will only get better after scoring on his West Ham debut in their 3-1 win at Blackpool.

Keane impressed at Bloomfield Road, and linked up well with new strike partner Frederic Piquionne.

On his new partnership, Keane said: 'We linked up well. He's obviously strong and good in theair, while I like to drop off and play in the holes. I think we cancombine quite well. The longer we play together, the better we willget.

'It's always nice as a striker to score on your debut but of course the most important thing was getting the win and we managed that.

Keane insists the Hammers now wanted to build on their victory and climb away from the drop zone.

He added onWest Ham TV: 'This is just one little step forward to what we want to achieve. It'sa good start and it's important that we maintain this now and carry itforward to Sunday's fixture.'

'Full credit to the lads because Blackpool came at us but we put in a good team effort and we did it and we enjoyed it.

The West Ham fans that travelled to Blackpool were delighted to see Keane run over to them in delight after his goal.

And Keane admits: 'I think it's always nice when you go to a new club to have a good relationship with the fans. I'm very lucky that, over the years, I've had a great relationship with them at every club I've been at.

'You only get a good relationship with the fans if you are good at what you do. I did that, but it was about getting the three points.'
