iverpool manager Roy Hodgson has played down reports linking the Reds with a move for West Ham and Tottenham target Loic Remy.[LNB] The 23-year-old, who has been likened to Thierry Henry, scored 16 goals for Nice last season and has broken into the France national team.[LNB]West Ham had been leading the chase for Remy after making a couple of sizeable offers for the striker, but they were unable to agree a fee with Nice.[LNB]However, Hodgson, has cooled stories linking the Reds with a move for the France international.[LNB]Hodgson said: "He's a player who was mentioned to me by the scouting department and a player the club were following before I came.[LNB]"He's a player I know very little about. If I am going to be interested in a player I am going to have to watch him playing, study him and make judgments which I have not been able to."[LNB]Remy's agent, Frederic Guerra, was quoted on Friday morning that he had spoken with the Reds about a switch to Anfield.[LNB]"Yes, Liverpool are interested in Loic and Loic is interested in Liverpool," Guerra told skysports.com.[LNB]"There has also been interest from West Ham and Tottenham and it is now up to Nice.[LNB]"Loic has always said he is keen to play in England and Liverpool are a massive club.[LNB]"I believe if Loic comes to England he will be a massive success.[LNB]"He is like Thierry Henry, but I believe if he comes to England he could be even better than Henry.[LNB]"He is a sensational player, he is very strong, very quick and two-footed. He is the complete player and Liverpool would love him."
