Oh what fun it is to see, West Ham win away

The Hammers gave their long suffering fans something to cheer about on Boxing Day with a long awaited and much deserved away victory over London rivals Fulham. Fans had waited since the opening day of last season for an away victory and things did not get off to the best start when the Hammers went behind from Aaron Hughes’ free header early in the game. West Ham then equalised against the run of play after good work from Carlton Cole.  Freddie Piquionne then volleyed home a Scott Parker cross to give the Hammers an unlikely lead at half-time. Carlton Cole then scored a second to send the very vocal Hammers fans home with something to cheer about.  The victory moves the Hammers off the bottom of the table.
