West Ham's roller-coaster campaign took another sharp dip today after it was revealed that they may miss out on a place in the Europa League next season. The Hammers currently occupy seventh position in the Premier League - a finish that would earn them qualification for the tournament that replaces the UEFA Cup this year. However, doubts have now surfaced over their capacity to fulfil the requirements of the UEFA club licence needed to enter European competition. The club missed the initial April 30 deadline for licence applications to besubmitted to the joint Premier League/Football Association committeethat administers the system on UEFA's behalf, and they now have until theend of the month to satisfy the conditions. According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, West Ham's failure to declare their accounts - and doubts over their ultimate ownership - are understood to have prevented completion of the licence application.
