Neill set to decide on future

Lucas Neill is expected to make a decision on his future within the next 48 hours after failing to agree a new deal at West Ham United. The Australian defender's contract at Upton Park expired at the end of last month and he has held talks over an extension. He previously rejected an offer from the Hammers and subsequent negotiations have been unable to bring about an agreement. Neill, who joined the Hammers in January 2007 from Blackburn, is now expected to leave Upton Park after not travelling with the club to China for the Asia Trophy. Former Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has been linked with a bid to take the 31-year-old to Manchester City on a free transfer. However, reports claim Turkish side Galatasaray are favourites to land Neill, with his agent Paddy Dominguez confirming a decision is on the horizon. "We are hoping in and around the next 48 hours Lucas will make a decision," said Dominguez in the Daily Star. "There are a couple of very big clubs who have also shown an interest."
