Wants first team action: Ilunga

Monaco are lining up a £1.5million bid for West Ham defender Herita Ilunga.

The 28-year-old left-back is out of the frame following Wayne Bridge's arrival and West Ham are keen to bring in funds as they search for a midfielder and striker among other targets.

Monaco had hoped to sign him on loan first but West Ham are hopeful of a deal.

Liverpool have also shown interest in Ilunga in the past but a move there now is unlikely.

He said: 'I heard the news about Monaco. My job is to play every day and I am fighting for that, every player wants to play.'
