Luis Boa Morte leaves West Ham United

Luis Boa Morte's spell with West Ham United has come to an end after the club announced they had terminated his contract a year early. [LNB]Boa Morte struggled to establish himself in the Hammers starting XI and has been released by the east London club to 'pursue a new opportunity abroad'. [LNB]The Portuguese midfielder, 33, had been at the club since January 2007. He made 109 appearances in and scored two goals.[LNB] Down and out: Boa Morte's spell at Upton Park has finally come to an end[LNB]He told the club's official website: 'I am sad to leave West Ham as I have made a lot of friends here. It is also a sad day for me to leave playing football in England after 14 years.[LNB]'I am looking forward to a new challenge. It is never too late to try somewhere and something different. There are high and low memories - the low ones only make you stronger - now it is a fresh start for me.'[LNB]Boa Morte wished the Hammers well for the new season and said he hoped the campaign would finish with promotion.
