I'm not deterred by Dean Ashton's injuries, insists Stoke boss Tony Pulis

Stoke City Tony Pulis boss says he has no concerns about Dean Ashton's injury record ahead of his £5m switch from West Ham. The injury-prone striker will sign for the Potters as soon as the Hammers have found a replacement, reports The Daily Mirror. West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has targeted Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen and Bayerm Munich's Luca Toni. And Pulis said: 'You're always taking a chance with people who have had injuries, but we took Ricardo Fuller when nobody would touch him and paid Southampton a nominal fee. 'I don't think he's missed a day's training since he came here and the only games he missed have been through suspension, not injury. 'Now and then you have to take a chance and even more so if they have the quality you can't get anywhere else.' Ashton, 25, was a trainee at Stoke before moving to Crewe, Norwich and then for £7.5m to West Ham in 2006. He scored 15 goals in 46 games for the Hammers but his time at Upton Park has been blighted by injuries.
