Henderson out on loan

West Ham have sent reserve goal-keeper Stephen Henderson out on loan to Championship side Ipswich Town for three months.

The Irishman had been expected to challenge Jussi Jaaskelainen for the number 1 shirt this season following his arrival in the summer but the Hammers’ fine defensive form and Jussi’s excellent start to the season have seen him yet to make his Premier League debut.

Henderson has made two Capital One Cup appearances for the Hammers but is known to be eager to play some first-team football.  Allardyce is also keen for the 24-year to play as he bids to become the long-term successor to Jaaskelainen.
