Harris set to calm the Upton Park chaos with £70m buyout

The chaos surrounding West Ham's ownership is likely to be solved by a £70million American buyout brokered by football's most prominent banker, Keith Harris, which will be completed before the start of the season. The bankruptcy of owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson means that Icelandic bank Straumur, itself controlled by the Icelandic financial authorities after its own problems, is in the process of taking over responsibility for the club.
