Generous West Ham chief executive Scott Duxbury and technical director Gianluca Nani both took a substantial cuts from their annual salary to secure the signing of Mexico striker Guillermo Franco, it has emerged. The extraordinary move was forced upon the embattled Premier League club's two most prominent board members to secure the free agent's arrival in a telling sign of the club's perilous financial position, according to the London Evening Standard. The Hammers cash fears have been well documented since former chairman Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson lost his fortune in last year's Icelandic banking crisis, who was bankrupted by the collapse of Landsbanki.
