West Ham are considering a bid to sign Cardiff defender Anthony Gerrard, according to reports on Tuesday.[LNB] The 24-year-old joined the Bluebirds from Walsall last year and was a regular in Dave Jones' side as the club missed out on promotion via the play-offs.[LNB]However, this season has seen Gerrard surprisingly left on the bench for Cardiff's Championship fixtures and his sole appearance came in the Carling Cup.[LNB]He is now attracting interest from the Premier League, with West Ham understood to be weighing up a move for the centre-half.[LNB]Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday have also been linked with Gerrard, although Owls boss Alan Irvine played down an interest in the defender.[LNB]"I am surprised to hear that one," said Irvine.[LNB]"I would expect that Anthony Gerrard's under contract which would require there to be a fee involved, and we don't have any money."
