Hammers hunt Davis

West Ham United are leading the race for Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis, skysports.com understands. The 32-year-old is out of contract this summer and has been linked with a move to League One rivals Leeds United. But West Ham are now thought to be in pole position for Davis' signature as boss Gianfranco Zola searches for back-up to England international Robert Green. Jan Lastuvka is to return to Shakhtar Donetsk following a year-long loan to leave the Hammers short of shot-stopping options. Zola is, therefore, in the market for strength in depth and Davis has been highlighted as the No.1 goalkeeping target.
