Hammers great tips Green

Former West ham keeper Ludek Miklosko has tipped Robert Green to be England's number one in South Africa next year. Miklosko has been West Ham's goalkeeper coach for the past eight years and has worked with some top exponents of the art during his time at Upton Park, including David James. The Portsmouth number one is now fully fit and back in England's squad for the two final World Cup qualifiers, against the Ukraine on Saturday and Belarus next Wednesday, but Miklosko believes Green, 29, has the edge in the race to be Fabio Capello's first choice. "I would say Rob is the best keeper that I have ever worked with," said Miklosko. "He has improved massively since he joined West Ham from Norwich and he's the perfect age for an international keeper. "Rob will be 30 by the time the World Cup comes around and that is a great age for a goalkeeper. I have worked also with David James, of course, and he is a great athlete. "It is difficult to separate them since they are both top-class goalkeepers but Rob would perhaps just have the edge because he is the younger man and because, since he went into the England team, he has never let them down."
