Hammers continue winning pre-season

West Ham have added another hard-fought victory to their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 defeat of League One outfit MK Dons. Goals from Julien Faubert, playing in advanced forward role and Carlton Cole came late in the second half to give Avram Grant his fourth victory as Hammers boss. West Ham’s World Cup players also got their first run-out last night following their extended breaks.  Goalkeeper Rob Green played the first 45 minutes and looked confident throughout.  Matt Upson and Jon Spector also got 45 minutes each whilst Scott Parker, subject of a transfer bid from Tottenham earlier in the day, also had a 60 minute workout. Grant spoke of the performance following the game.  “It was a good work-out.  We are three weeks into the pre-season and everything is going to plan more or less.  The players are improving all the time.”
