West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green has his sights set on playing for England at the 2010 World Cup. Green has been named in Fabio Capello's squad for the friendly against Slovenia and is in pole position to retain the number one jersey in the absence of the injured David James. However, he insists he is taking nothing for granted. "My chances are the same as everyone else's who's playing,' he told the club's official website. "The manager has said before that he will pick his players on who is playing well for his club and training well. There's stuff you can control and stuff you can't control. The thing I can control is how I play for West Ham." Green is also hopeful that team mates Matthew Upson and Carlton Cole will feature in South Africa. "I would rate their chances pretty highly," he added. "Matt's been a mainstay for quite a while and Carlton was a shining light in the last game against Holland."
