Gold highlights Parker credentials

David Gold is bemused by Fabio Capello's decision to overlook Scott Parker and has urged the Italian to recall the West Ham midfielder for England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro. Parker has been one of the few success stories at Upton Park this season as the Hammers face up to what may be another season fighting against relegation from the Barclays Premier League. The 29-year-old was omitted from Capello's final World Cup party after making the original 30-man squad. The former Chelsea man has not featured for his country since despite picking up three goals whilst starring for the Hammers. Gold thinks Parker's all-round qualities would provide England with an effective alternative for their qualifier against the Balkan nation on Tuesday week and has urged Capello to include the midfielder in his squad, which is announced on Monday afternoon. The West Ham co-chairman, whose side scrapped for a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham on Saturday, said: "I find it quite interesting that he keeps getting overlooked because he is so different to anything else we have got. "Scotty Parker would bring something to the midfield that England have been lacking for the last couple of years. He's someone who can make goals, who can score goals and he can track back. He has every attribute that most managers dream of."
