Danny Gabbidon will join the Wales training camp 18 months after he last played a match. The 29-year-old West Ham defender was told he may never play again after suffering a serious stomach injury. Against the odds, though, Gabbidon is finally recovering after a lengthy stint on the sidelines and will join Wales in training this week. Given the all-clear by West Ham, Gabbidon joins Wales in training but will not figure in the match against Estonia at Llanelli on Friday. Determined Delighted with his return to action, the Hammers defender said: "I never once felt that I would not play again. They tell me that was the rumour, but I have never heard it. "I've been too busy trying to get myself fit to worry about things like that. "I'm fit now," he added. "I'm back in full training with my club and the treatment for my injury has finished. "I aim to be back in contention at the beginning of next season. It has been a long time out but I will be back raring to go come August."
