Frederic Piquionne fined for fly-tipping

West Ham striker Frederic Piquionne has been ordered to pay ?449 for fly-tipping in a country lane.

The France international dumped 10 black bin bags, two recycling bags and a box three miles from his home.

Investigators traced the trash back to Piquionne's home and he was ordered to appear at Harlow magistrates court.

Piquionne, 32, who lives in Stapleford Abbotts, Essex, pleaded guilty to illegally dumping the waste and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs.

The player, who earns 40,000-a-week, claimed he was confused by the system of waste disposal in the UK compared with France.

Epping Council said the case showed that 'your waste is your responsibility'.
