Guillermo Franco claims he has signed a one-year contract with West Ham.[LNB] The Mexico striker was released by Villarreal in the summer after an injury-plagued three seasons with the Spanish club.[LNB] "The contract is until June even though in principle West Ham wanted it to be a two-year contract," the 32-year-old told reporters before flying to England with Tottenham and Mexico winger Giovani dos Santos.[LNB] "We wanted it only to be a year. Then we will see, above all because the World Cup is coming up and we hope to qualify.[LNB] "After the World Cup we will see what will happen.[LNB] "I also decided that it would only be one year because as a family we will see if we adapt, if we like it and if it turns out as we are thinking or not.[LNB] "So the most logical option was to sign until June and that's what we've sorted out with West Ham.[LNB] "I'm happy because I'm going to an English team and I believe that is a good opportunity for me."
