Marc-Antoine Fortune is on the verge of signing for Celtic and may be followedby Nancy team-mate Landry N'Guemo. He comes as part of a pair: Fortune will bring N'Guemo with him Fortune arrived in Glasgow for a tour of Celtic's training and stadium facilities yesterday and talks have progressed well. The Guyanese-born frontman is expected to tie up a transfer of around £3.8million in the next 24 hours, snubbing several teams in the Barclays Premier League. Celtic have also discussed a deal to sign Cameroon midfielder N'Guemo and Nancy expect him to follow Fortune to Glasgow. A statement on Nancy's official website read: 'Unless there is a turnaround in the situation, Marc-Antoine Fortune will soon sign for Celtic. 'He visited the club's facilities on Monday and could quickly be transferred. He will probably be joined by Landry N'Guemo, who will be the subject of a one-season loan.' The capture of Fortune would represent an impressive coup for Tony Mowbray asat least three English top-flight clubs had made offers to the player. Hull initially looked favourites to sign the 28-year-old while Portsmouth and Fulham soon followed with concrete bids. West Ham were among a number of other Barclays Premier League clubs to be linked with the player, who scored five goals for West Brom after being signed on loan by Mowbray in January. Mowbray had expressed hope that their personal relationship and Celtic's status and history would persuade Fortune to turn down more lucrative offers. The former Celtic defender appears to have succeeded in doing just that as he bids to make Fortune his first signing since moving from The Hawthorns. Defensive midfielder N'Guemo, who has spent his entire career with Nancy and made 33 appearances last season, could be the second arrival. Mowbray discussed a loan deal for the 23-year-old while at West Brom and has continued his interest since moving to Parkhead. The pair would be ready-made replacements for two players not offered new deals by Mowbray. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Paul Hartley, who signed for Bristol City on Monday, were told they were surplus to requirements as Mowbray looks to put his imprint on his squad. A deal for Fortune could be tied up in time for him to join Celtic's trip to Australia. The squad depart Glasgow on Thursday for a one-off pre-season match against Brisbane Roar on Sunday.
