Faubert, Faye and Carew among players released by West Ham

West Ham have began preparing for next season in the Premier League by releasing six first-team players.

French international Julien Faubert leaves the club after five years and featured as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Blackpool in the Play-off final on Saturday.

Former Senegal internationals Abdoulaye Faye and Papa Bouba Diop both joined the club last summer and featured regularly this season, while John Carew also leaves after one season with the club.

Youngsters Olly Lee and Frank Nouble have also been released, while Henri Lansbury and Danny Collins have returned to Arsenal and Stoke City following loan deals.

The club have offered a new deal to England goalkeeper Robert Green and are hoping to complete a deal for George McCartney who spent the season on-loan from Sunderland.
