Croatia coach Slaven Bilic has thrown his hat into the ring to become the new manager of Celtic. The former Everton and West Ham defender is one of Europe's most highly regarded managerial prospects after leading a thrilling Croatian team to the quarter-finals of Euro 2008. And the 40-year-old has already announced plans to stand down after the current World Cup qualifying campaign. That decision would be hastened, however, if Celtic were to show a genuine interest in appointing him as Gordon Strachan's successor. Former Parkhead defender Rudi Vata has obtained a mandate to submitthe details of Bilic to his former club and has already notified seniorfigures at Parkhead of the interest.
