Chelsea's Wembley opponents trailed to a stunning first West Ham goal by Radoslav Kovac until James Tomkins' fateful, miss-timed challenge on Tim Cahill changed the course of the match. [LNB]The 20-year-old central defender recommended as an England player of the future by his manager, Gian Franco Zola, was sent off, Louis Saha despatched the penalty and Everton were heading for a win that should have been even more comfortable than it proved. [LNB]Saha, endeavouring to secure a place in the final line-up, was frustrated not to complete his hat-trick yet the ovation he received as he left the pitch suggested he had enhanced his prospects. [LNB]Moyes, now seeking to confirm fifth place in the Premier League as well as claim Everton's first trophy since 1995, said: "Saha also scored two at West Ham and his overall contribution today was much better. He's got that in him. We're always aware of that and trying to get it out of him." [LNB]Zola, inevitably, identified Tomkins' dismissal as the pivotal moment: "The penalty changed the story of the game," the Italian said. [LNB]"I feel sorry for him. He did try to get the ball and maybe a yellow would have been enough. It is painful but I accept it." [LNB]The result derails West Ham's European aspirations but Zola still draws encouragement from his team's progress. "Considering the circumstances, the season has gone well for us, " he said. [LNB]Kovac's 30-yard shot veered away from Tim Howard almost before the American could react but Tomkins' indiscretion presented Everton with the initiative. Saha duly equalised from the spot and Yobo put his side ahead from Steven Pienaar's corner-kick. Pienaar's elusive skills and perfect cross provided Saha with a simple tap-in for the third. [LNB]
