Dyer makes reserves bow

Kieron Dyer has stepped up his return to action with an hours run out in a 2-1 victory for West Ham reserves against Chelsea Reserves on Wednesday evening. The former England midfielder was used as very late substitute the night before in the Hammers’ 3-0 defeat away to Manchester United but the hours match practice will have done the 31-year-old the world of good. With West Ham’s next home game not coming for another week it should be enough time for Dyer to stake a claim for a starting position in Gianfranco Zola’s side to face Bolton at the Boleyn Ground on the 6th March.
