New West Ham recruit Alessandro Diamanti is relishing the challenge of playing in one of the best leagues in the world and cannot wait to make his debut. The 26-year-old striker joined from Italian side Livorno and after scoring twice for the reserves in midweek, he is targeting the weekend's tussle with Wigan for his Premier League bow. "I came to England because the Premier League is the most beautiful championship in the world and I cannot wait to start the season with the first team," he told the club's official website. "I am very excited about that and want to have this challenge." Diamanti has been helped to settle in at Upton Park by Swiss midfielder Valon Behrami and the Italian has paid homage to his colleague. "My taxi driver has two very nice cars, he is never late and is a very comfortable driver to ride with!" he added. "Seriously though, I want to thank Valon a lot because he has helped me a lot to join with the team and settle in."
