// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Alessandro Diamanti has rejected suggestions that he touched the ball twice with his penalty against Liverpool.[LNB] The Italian striker, a summer signing from Livorno, drew West Ham level at 1-1 with a bizarre spot-kick that looped down the middle and past Pepe Reina.[LNB]Diamanti had lost his footing as he struck the ball and replays showed that he may have hit it twice, which would have been illegal.[LNB]Liverpool's players were unhappy that the goal was allowed to stand, although they did bounce back to win the match 3-2 and keep the pressure on the leading pack.[LNB]Diamanti, however, maintains that there was nothing wrong with his penalty and that it went exactly where he intended.[LNB]Speaking about the controversy, Diamanti told the Daily Mirror: "Really? I don't care. It deserved a goal.[LNB]"I slipped but I don't believe I touched it twice. I was trying to hit it down the middle and that is what happened.[LNB]"I am just sorry we lost because we played well as a team."[LNB]
