David Sullivan stays silent on under fire West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan refused to cast further doubt over Gianfranco Zola's uncertain future, opting to praise the club's suffering fans for their 'magnificent' support during the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.[LNB]The relegation threatened Hammers sunk without a trace at Anfield in a woeful performance that leaves them facing a major battle to stay in the Barclays Premier League with just three games remaining.[LNB]Under fire Zola is expected to be dismissed at the end of the season but Sullivan, who has been critical of the players in previous defeats, kept quiet on the Italian's position.[LNB] On his way: After a season to forget, West Ham look set to sack Zola this summer[LNB]'I don't want to say anything about the team and the performance,' Sullivan told ESPN Soccernet. [LNB]'The supporters were magnificent and a real credit to the club.'[LNB]Zola echoed Sullivan's sentiments on Monday night and issued an apology to the Hammers' 1,500 ardent travelling contingent, who remained spirited throughout despite their team's disappointing collapse on Merseyside.[LNB] Poor performance: West Ham were woeful in defeat at Anfield on Monday night[LNB]Former England manager Steve McClaren and Croatia coach Slaven Bilic are in the frame to replace the Italian this summer, who is understood to be heading for the exit.[LNB]But with Wigan to play this Saturday, Zola has vowed that there will be a significant improvement and response from his team, who desperately need a win at Upton Park.[LNB] Decision time: Co-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold could sack Zola[LNB]'They are fantastic,' he said. He is a very talented and key player for us. [LNB]'Everyone knows what he gives us in terms of his passion and commitment. It will be good to have him back but we have to win as a team and everyone will have to produce a performance.
