Cole hits home for Hammers
Carlton Cole was on the scoresheet as West Ham recorded a narrow 2-1 win at Peterborough.
The Hammers took the lead when new signing Thomas Hitzlsperger found Cole inside the area and the England international smashed past Joe Lewis.
Peterborough had trialist Franck Queudrue in their side for the second half and drew level in the 50th minute when new signing Dave Hibbert headed in a George Boyd free-kick.
Anthony Edgar hit the winner for the Premier League side when he capped a strong run from midfield with a low finish.
