Scunthorpe captain Cliff Byrne has praised the impact of on-loan West Ham striker Freddie Sears and believes his experience can help the side.[LNB] Sears, 20, joined on a one-month deal from the Hammers last week and has already played a pivotal part in the back-to-back away league victories over Preston and Watford.[LNB]Defender Byrne, 28, who scored just his eighth goal for the club since joining in June 2003 against the Hornets on Saturday, feels Sears has been a breath of fresh air since coming to Glanford Park.[LNB]He told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "He has only been here a week but he has settled down really quickly. He is a bit of a jack-in-the-box. There is a spark about him, he is quick and direct.[LNB]"He also has experience of playing at the highest level in the Premier League. No matter how short that experience may be it will stand him in good stead and hopefully we will get the benefit of it.[LNB]"We now have some stiff competition for places in that area up front and that can only bode well for us."[LNB]
