Sheffield United have won the race to sign out-of-contract Kyel Reid, skysports.com understands. The Blades beat off competition from a number of sides to land the youngster's signature on a two-year-contract, with Wolves, Birmingham, Burnley, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Newcastle all thought to have been interested. Reid was available on a free transfer after his previous deal at West Ham United expired at the end of last season. He signed professional terms with the Hammers in 2005 and has since had loan spells at Barnsley, Crystal Palace, Blackpool and Wolves.
