Blackburn issue apology to Sam Allardyce over Steve Kean comments

Blackburn have issued an apology to Sam Allardyce for derogatory comments made against him by former boss Steve Kean.

Kean was filmed making the remarks by Rovers supporters on a pre-season trip to Hong Kong in 2011. The comments were in relation to the alleged managerial methods of Allardyce, who was sacked as Blackburn manager the previous December. Kean - formerly Allardyce's first-team coach - stepped up to replace him but resigned last September after an unsuccessful 21-month tenure which saw the club relegated to the Championship. Allardyce, now in charge at West Ham, reportedly accepted a substantial out-of-court damages payment over the affair last week.
