John Williams says Blackburn "wouldn't welcome any approach" for Sam Allardyce from West Ham - but Portsmouth could let Avram Grant leave.[LNB] Allardyce is reported to be on a four-man shortlist to succeed Gianfranco Zola at Upton Park, along with Grant, Dave Jones and Ian Holloway.[LNB]But Rovers chairman Williams says the Hammers are yet to make a move for his man - and won't be encouraging them to do so.[LNB]He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "There's been no approach and we wouldn't welcome any approach."[LNB]However, according to Sky Sports News, the Hammers would have more success in an approach to Pompey for Grant after it was reported that the Championship-bound south coast club will not demand any compensation for their manager. [LNB]Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou says that, while West Ham have not contacted the club as yet, Grant will be given permission to discuss terms if they do and the relegated side would not demand any payment for the remaining three years of the manager's contract. [LNB]Grant, who against the odds guided financially-stricken Portsmouth to the FA Cup final on Saturday, was included on a manager short-list drawn up by Hammers co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan earlier this week.
