Bentleys West Ham move cut short

West Ham United have confirmed that David Bentley will be out of action for 6 months after undergoing knee surgery. Bentley had made 5 appearances for the club since signing on a year long loan deal from Tottenham on transfer deadline day.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce said: "It is a great shame for David as he had settled in well to the squad. We wish him well and hope he has a speedy recovery."
