Roma forward Julio Baptista has ruled out a return to the Premier League, according to the Brazilian's agent. Baptista spent the 2006/07 season on loan at Arsenal and has been linked with moves to West Ham United and Manchester City before the close of the transfer window. He is currently out of favour at Roma and was not involved in the club's opening game of the Serie A season on Sunday, as Luciano Spalletti's side lost 3-2 to Genoa. However, the 27-year-old's representative Herminio Menendez has confirmed Baptista is not looking to secure a move to England in order to play regular first-team football. Menendez told asromanews.it: "Julio will not return to England. I can exclude this." Reports in Italy have also linked Baptista with a switch to Inter Milan as part of a deal which would see David Suazo move to Roma. "I don't know if this will happen, we shall see," Menendez said. "For the time being I rule out a permanent transfer for Julio."
