Allardyce - Luck will change
Sam Allardyce insists that he is not concerned by Blackburn's stuttering start to the Premier League season.
Rovers played out a goalless draw with West Ham at Ewood Park on Saturday, being unable to find the back of the net despite outplaying their opponents.
Substitute Junior Hoilett came closest to breaking the deadlock but his chip was slightly misjudged and did not hit the target.
Allardyce admitted that he was frustrated by his side's inability to find a goal but said that any suggestions Blackburn are
struggling would be wide of the mark.
"If people looked at the table and saw one point in three and thought: 'What a struggle Blackburn are having'," he told Sky Sports after the match.
"But if you look at the performances overall then you have to stick by that performance and in the end that will turn into good results for us.
"I'm a little disappointed that Junior didn't win it for us, he'd have been a hero today and probably would have deserved to be the hero.
"On two occasions, not just the one where he got through, but he turned very well in the box and just pulled it wide but it wasn't to be, but a good clean sheet and something to build on."
Blackburn lost 2-0 to Manchester City on the opening day and followed that with a 2-1 defeat by Sunderland after squandering numerous chances to take at least a point from the match.
Although Allardyce admits that his players need to work on creating more chances, he is confident luck will eventually turn in Blackburn's favour.
"It should have been more than a point on reflection of the opportunities that we had today," he added.
"We have been a little shy in front of goal all season in terms of chances created and not converted so when we got some half-chances we wanted to convert them if we could.
"In the first half I think Chris Samba's shot was going in and it just touches Julien Faubert's head and goes over the bar.
"When things are going for you those sort of chances go in and at the moment they are not. When it did come with Junior he didn't quite get it down under the bar but it was a terrific show of technique and quality.
"Those are the small differences that make all the difference in the Premier League - it is all about inches and at the moment we are the wrong side of those inches."
