Wolves can stay up, insists Jamie O'Hara

Jamie O'Hara is confident he can avoid the agony of being relegated from the Barclays Premier League for the second season running - providing Wolves stop conceding last-gasp goals.[LNB]O'Hara was on loan from Tottenham to Portsmouth last season when they lost their top-flight status.[LNB]The 24-year-old midfielder has now made the switch to Molineux - initially on loan but with a view to a permanent transfer - and scored his first goal for the club during yesterday's 1-1 draw at West Brom.[LNB] Perfect start: Jamie O'Hara celebrates his goal against West Brom[LNB]But a stoppage-time equaliser from Carlos Vela - on loan to the Baggies from Arsenal - left Wolves at the bottom of the table.[LNB]Wolves have let in goals in time added on against Fulham (lost 2-1), Bolton (lost 1-0), Manchester United (lost 2-1) and now their local rivals.[LNB]O'Hara said: 'We've got a better squad here than at Portsmouth. The team is better. We play better football. We create a lot more chances.[LNB]'But we've got to cut out the goals right at the death. I've played four games now and, in two, we've lost in the last minute.[LNB]'We can't give away goals like that. That is what happened at Portsmouth as well.[LNB]'We played well all season and we gave away goals at the death and in the end it is going to cost you so we've got to cut those out.[LNB]'We've got a lot of winnable games coming up and we've got to make it count.'[LNB]O'Hara has quickly become a fans' favourite at Wolves and was made aware of how his popularity would rise even further should he score against Albion.[LNB]He said: 'The lads said to me "if you score in this game, you can become a hero overnight with the fans".[LNB] Late leveller: Carlos Vela scores West Brom's equaliser against Wolves[LNB]'It was great to get a fantastic goal and I hope I can keep putting in good performances for the team and give the fans something to be proud of at the end of the season.[LNB]'It is great to be welcomed by the club so well and hearing the fans chanting my name is fantastic.[LNB]'It would have great if the goal had earned us three points. It would have been even better.'[LNB]Baggies midfielder Paul Scharner knows his side have to tighten up defensively if they are to stay out of the relegation zone.[LNB]New boss Roy Hodgson has worked hard in his short spell in charge on improving that aspect of West Brom's game after conceding 52 league goals - the highest in the division.[LNB]Scharner said: 'The training was quite hard last week. We did a lot of pressing and defensive stuff because our goals conceded record is not the best.[LNB]'We tried very hard and I suppose it's a bit of a step forward to concede one goal.[LNB]'It is important that we do tighten up. I think that is the main focus in the next few games actually, to stay solid at the back and try to score some goals.[LNB]'The gaffer been drilling the players a lot in that department. It's very hard work but worth it if it pays off.[LNB]'I think, apart from their goal, Wolves had only one other chance in the game.'[LNB] West Brom 1 Wolves 1: Derby marred as fans throw seats and a smoke bombIt's top secret: Wolves boss McCarthy on pasta, Der Kaiser and U2[LNB] [LNB]  Explore more:People: Paul Scharner, Roy Hodgson, Jamie O'Hara, Carlos Vela
