Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that goalkeeper Chris Kirkland will join Leicester City on loan.[LNB]Kirkland has made just one appearance for Wigan since August, and is set to move to Leicester before Thursday's deadline.[LNB]And the Foxes have also signed West Bromwich Albion striker Roman Bednar on loan until January.[LNB]Martinez believes it is important for Kirkland to play first-team football, with illness holding up the move until now.[LNB] Making his move: Chris Kirkland[LNB]'Things have been delayed by Chris' bug, but we will be sitting down to have a chat about the situation,' Martinez told the Evening Post.[LNB]'He got the bug last Thursday night and couldn't travel with the team to Old Trafford, but he trained all right on Monday.[LNB]'He's lost a little bit of weight, but he'll hopefully regain that very quickly. Now he's over the bug, we'll look into what we can do to help him enjoy his football.[LNB][caption[LNB]'He needs to be playing football, and being able to maintain thatsharpness that you only get when you're playing regular football.[LNB]'That's important, because we'll need him to be ready whenever he gets an opportunity to play for Wigan Athletic.'[LNB]Meanwhile Leicester have beaten off a host of clubs to land Czech Republic international Bednar.[LNB]He will go straight into the Leicester squad, and could well play against Nottingham Forest on Monday.[LNB]'With strikers it is all about confidence and goals,' West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo told the club's official website.[LNB]'I've noticed his frustrations. Hopefully he will play and score goals and we'll review the situation when the loan is over.[LNB]'Leicester are signing some players to try and boost the team and are investing in the club. You would expect to see Leicester winning some games and that should suit him.[LNB]'Hopefully he'll score goals to help them, help himself and everybody.'[LNB] Man United crowd influenced the ref!
