Pulis to ring changes

Tony Pulis is expected to make widespread changes to his West Brom side against Port Vale in the Capital One Cup - just 48 hours after they played Chelsea.

Saido Berahino is unlikely to feature after he had a transfer request rejected by the club on Monday.

The striker was left out against the champions on Sunday after the Baggies turned down a bid from Tottenham.

Brown Ideye and Rickie Lambert could return up front against Vale, while Joleon Lescott may return after being dropped for the last two games and Serge Gnabry should make his full debut.

Port Vale could be unchanged from the side which defeated Doncaster 3-0 at the weekend.

Valiants boss Rob Page was purring after the performance his XI, which included the fit-again Ebo Andoh (hamstring), put in and may think that the same line-up gives them the best chance at The Hawthorns.

Midfielder Michael O'Connor (knee) is nearing a return but Page has been reluctant to put a specific date on his comeback, while goalkeeper Chris Neal (ankle) should also be back soon.

One player who will not be in Page's squad is Adam Yates, who left to join Northampton on loan on Tuesday.
