West Bromwich Albion have confirmed they have rejected an offer from Sevilla for Borja Valero.[LNB]Tug of war: West Brom's Borja Valero [LNB]The Spanish club, who have been linked with a move for some time, yesterday tabled an undisclosed bid for the midfielder which was swiftly rebuked.[LNB]Having failed to settle during Albion's fateful Barclays Premier League campaign of 2008/09, Valero enjoyed a hugely successful season-long loan spell at Sevilla's La Liga rivals Real Mallorca last term.[LNB]He has now returned to The Hawthorns and could well play a part in the Baggies' forthcoming campaign back in the top flight.[LNB]But the Black Country club have made it clear that Sevilla's offer is nowhere near their valuation of the 25-year-old.[LNB]Sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth said: 'There have been lots of rumours in the media over the past few weeks about Sevilla being interested in Borja but the bid they tabled yesterday was the first we have received from them.[LNB]'It was rejected out of hand as it was nowhere near what we would regard as an acceptable offer.[LNB]'Borja enjoyed an outstanding season in Spain and we have just been promoted to the top flight.[LNB]'If we do not receive a satisfactory offer for Borja, we are more than happy for him to rejoin us for pre-season training in three weeks' time and be a part of our Barclays Premier League squad.'[LNB] THE INSIDER: Tottenham bide time on expensive Edinson Cavani, Yakubu close to West Ham, plus Marlon Harewood and David Nugent's Old Firm hopesWest Brom sign Spanish defender Ibanez on a free from Atletico MadridEngland 0 Germany 1: Premier League beaten by Bundesliga as profits slumpWEST BROMWICH ALBION FC
