West Brom braced for Berahino bids

West Brom should expect to receive interest in their Under 21 international Saido Berahino after a superb start to the season from the striker.

Berahino has seven goals in just nine games for the Baggies this season and offers are to be expected in January following a tremendous run of form for the youngster. Berahino has quickly become one of the Premier League’s hottest properties with goals against Liverpool and Manchester United this season.

Baggies manager Alan Irvine has admitted he is expecting to receive a number of offers for the English striker when the transfer window re-opens. There's a bit of time to go between now and then, but if he continues to do what he is doing other clubs will come in and test the water,” he said.

Irvine claims that the club are in a good position and do not need to sell one of their main players. They believe the 21 year old is worth around £25m whilst potential suitors Liverpool and Tottenham would prefer a price of around £15m.

Liverpool have been struggling to score goals in the absence of Daniel Sturridge with Mario Balotelli failing to provide the goals they lost in Luis Suarez. Brendan Rodgers will reportedly consider a move for Berahino in January if Balotelli fails to prove his worth at Anfield even if they cannot move the Italian on.

Tottenham have also reportedly shown an interest in the striker and would be prepared to offer £15m to acquire his services.
