Tim Sherwood in with a chance at The Hawthorns

With the recent news of the sacking of Alan Irvine, the head coach vacancy is again up for grabs at The Hawthorns and outsiders are tipping Sherwood for the vacant position.

Irvine was officially removed as head coach of West Bromwich Albion on 29th December after just six months and 15 days in charge, despite his attempts at reorganising the team by bringing in some great names such as Joleon Lesscott, Craig Gardener and Brown Ideye the club decided it was the best decision at the time to take the club forward. Irvine leaves the club half way through the season with 17 points, lying 16th and loosing three games on the trot.

Tim Sherwood was originally highly tipped for the position after the departure of Pep Mel last summer but after negotiations fell through between himself and the club, reports suggest that the club were not willing at the time to pay the wages for the two coaches he wanted to bring with him.

However with the recent turn of events this may see Jeremy Peace willing to pay up. West Brom have one of the best financial records in professional football in England so there are expectations that the club can afford the expertise of Sherwood and his wing men. Sherwood, who was interviewed for the post in June, is back on Albion’s radar while Tony Pulis, the former Crystal Palace manager, is also expected to come under consideration.

We expect to see Keith Downing once again manage the helm for the forthcoming New Year's Day match against West Ham but do not expect him to be strongly considered for the job although he is on the bookies lists.

Sherwood (45) is available and also a potential target for Newcastle United, following Alan Pardew’s exit to Palace, and the prospect of managing in the Premier League again would undoubtedly appeal.

It seems like a clear choice... Tim Sherwood, the right man, the man the fans want or another come-and-go manager.

This is it, 2015 could make or break the Albion, Peace has already hinted in a video interview that if the club were to be relegated to the Championship he would consider selling up and now with the club into their fourth consecutive reign in the Premier League it would be a huge shame to throw it all away.
