West Brom defender Gabriel Tamas will serve a three-match ban after the Football Association confirmed he had accepted a charge of violent conduct.

The 27-year-old Romanian was handed the charge on Monday over a clash with Norwich striker James Vaughan during the Baggies' 1-0 win at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Tamas had until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge and he has chosen to accept his punishment.

A statement on the FA website read: "West Bromwich Albion's Gabriel Tamas will begin a three match suspension with immediate effect after he accepted a charge of violent conduct.

"Tamas was charged following an incident during West Bromwich Albion's fixture at Norwich City on Sunday 11 September."
