Tchoyi takes a gamble

West Brom hero Somen Tchoyi was rewarded for his gambler's instinct in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. On his first Premier League start, Tchoyi scored the goal that provided the Baggies with a precious point as they became the latest side to drag themselves back against United after falling two goals adrift. The 27-year-old could hardly have expected to profit when Chris Brunt launched his left-wing cross towards Edwin van der Sar. But he refused to abandon the cause and gained due recompense when Van der Sar inexplicably dropped the ball at his feet, allowing the Cameroon international to gleefully tap home. "I just went for the cross and hoped it would come for me," he said. "I was just focused on the goal. I was waiting for something - and I got it."
