Survival still the aim says Scotty Scott Carson is refusing to get carried away by Albion’s start insisting survival is still the aim. Albion currently find themselves sixth in the Premier League – despite having to face Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool in the opening weeks of the season. The England international says the Baggies are fully focused on maintaining their Premier League status despite the excellent start to the season. “We haven’t readjusted our ambitions,” said the stopper.  “Our target is 40 points – nothing less. Any more will be a massive bonus. “We won’t get carried away. People are talking about top six but here they’re not. “We just want to make sure we build as a club. We’ve had a good run and we know that a bad patch can happen and dampen our confidence. “We have to be realistic about our ambitions. The main thing is to still be in this division next year. “If we can do that then only then will we think about moving on to the next target.” Albion remained unbeaten in September and now travel north to face Manchester United. On the back of Albion’s fantastic 3-2 victory at Arsenal last month, Carson says his teammates will be going into the Old Trafford test full of confidence.“The last three or four times we’ve gone to Old Trafford and got a hammering – probably even feared that before we’ve got there,” he continued. “But the way our results have gone and the way United’s season has gone we have got to be confident. “The result we had at Arsenal a few weeks ago shows what can happen. “We need to try and do that again – play with that kind of intensity.”
