But midfielder hopes to be back for Bolton

Paul Scharner has ruled himself out of the Arsenal trip after a scan confirmed he’s lacerated a ligament in his knee.

The Austrian international revealed in a post on Facebook – which has since been removed – that he faced a period on the sidelines after falling awkwardly against Liverpool.

But the former Wigan man hopes to return to action against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday 19th November.

The injury first occurred during Austria’s recent fixtures against Azerbaijan and Kazahkstan which Scharner played the full 90 minutes in both. He sat out training in the build-up to the Liverpool game, but was forced off after 58 minutes.

Do you think Scharner will be fit to return against Bolton? Have your say at Baggies Banter.
